As the name implies, Collagen Induction Therapy is a skin rejuvenation treatment that induces the dermis and its deeper layers to generate large amounts of new collagen which then lift, tighten and improve the skin. Safe for all areas of the face and body, it is an ideal treatment for patients who want to reduce the appearance of scar tissue. The therapy stimulates blood supply to the areas being treated, encourages new cell growth and repair, and stimulates new collagen growth.

How does it work?

A topical anesthetic is first applied to the area being treated. A device with micro-fine needles is then used to gently create many microscopic channels deep into the dermis of the skin, allowing the skin to absorb the nutrient serum applied to the area during or after treatment. The channels improve the penetration of vitamins A and C creams by about 1,000 times. This stimulates new collagen growth, making skin appear fresher and younger.

After treatment, the area treated will turn pink and there will be minimal swelling for the first few days. Within a few weeks, there are visible signs of skin regeneration and repair, with improved tone, texture and a reduced appearance of scarring, etc. Patients note continued improvement over 3-9 months as the body takes time to generate new collagen. Typically, 1-4 treatments are needed for optimal results.

The positive effects of Collagen Induction Therapy last for years in most people, unless the skin is further damaged by sun exposure, smoking or other external factors.
